I am pursuing a career in technical theatre, specifically aiming to become a lighting technician and designer. I’m currently studying BA(Hons) Technical Theatre Arts at Falmouth University

Within my Production Arts course I am undertaking the lighting design and operation for the NT Connections project. This involves creating the lighting designs for our school studios, and transferring to the Albany Theatre, Deptford for a performance as part of the festival.

I have gained practical experience through volunteering and work experience, including at:

• Lantern Arts Centre, Wimbledon – An amateur dramatics theatre where I have volunteered; operating the lighting, sound and AV cues for two productions in February and July 2019.
• Colour House Theatre, Merton – I am a technical operator at the amateur theatre group producing children’s shows, where I work alternate weeks. I am also involved with programming lighting for the new shows, helping me to gain valuable experience working with the Theatre’s Director.
• White Light – I have completed two work experience placements here, each giving me insight into the different departments that make up a large theatre hire company.
• Royal Albert Hall – I spent a week of work experience, experiencing the back office support departments and front of house technical operations. This provided a broad insight into the venue’s management and day to day operation.
