2019 Lumiere Scheme Open to applications
The ALD Lumière Scheme is a pathway scheme for emerging lighting designers, giving them valuable experience of working professionally as an assistant lighting designer. Some Lumières may have the opportunity to take on associate lighting designer roles toward the end of their attachments.
The Lumière will be matched with a number of established lighting designers and will spend six months assisting them, travelling around the country and possibly internationally.Alongside this, each Lumière will receive a bespoke package of mentoring and support, a toolkit for how to survive and thrive as a lighting designer: anything from getting an agent and building a portfolio to navigating challenging situations.
The application period for the 2019 scheme is now open until 8pm on Saturday 6th July and you can find out more information about whether you are eligible to apply here: https://www.ald.org.uk/the-ald-lumiere-scheme/recruitment-for-2019-lumiere-scheme
Even if you are beyond the criteria to apply, but believe that the scheme is a worthwhile cause to continue with, you may wish to donate to the funding of future periods. Full information about what we try to achieve and how to donate to the scheme can be read here: https://www.ald.org.uk/training/the-ald-lumiere-scheme
