And if you are studying lighting or video & Projection design full time at a Higher Education institution you can enjoy sponsored membership for at least two years of your program of study."

If you are thinking about going to university or drama school to study lighting, its useful know what tutors are looking for. There are are several dedicated theatre and performance lighting design degree courses, and a number of other courses where aspects of stage lighting practice are a major part of the course.

With so many students approaching Lighting Designers for work placements we thought it would be sensible to clarify what is on offer and what to expect.

ALPD Sponsored Students Scheme
To qualify for Sponsored Student membership, we require the applicant to be studying on a full time course and have an interest in the process of live performance lighting and / or video and projection. The free membership is limited to a period of one full subscription after you join.  The scheme is funded by Corporate Members of the ALPD.
