The ALD is looking to appoint a Freelance General Manager / Administrator(s).


The role is to administer the day to day running of the association within a fixed budget. Duties include looking after its membership, subscription renewals and expansion of the existing membership. To co-ordinate and administer the Executive Committee and its board of Directors, planning the agenda and keeping minutes of the bi-monthly board meetings, assisting and actioning its tasks. You will also represent the public face of the ALD via telephone and email, at meetings, trade shows, socials events and wider industry debates as required.


A good knowledge of the performance lighting industry and its people is essential. An understanding of the different unions and agreements that cover the work of our members. You will have excellent organisational and communication (both verbal and written) skills, alongside proven experience in the areas of general accounting & administration and governance.


This is a freelance post that has an annual, hourly week average of 30 hours, flexible month to month dependent on its needs. All aspects of the job can be shared and sub-contracted out within the set ALD budget for the post.
