Rosco Wins a Trio of Awards at NAB 2008

Mid-April saw Rosco products win no less than three awards at the annual National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) trade show, held in Las Vegas, recognizing Rosco’s continuing status as a market-leading innovator in the broadcast industry.
The TV Technology Magazine 2008 STAR (Superior Technology Award Recipient) Award for best show product was proof that LitePadTM is one of the pre-eminent technological novelties available to the media industry, while the DV Magazine Black Diamond Award reinforced LitePad’s status as a major new product making its US debut at the show. Rosco’s third award was the 2008 Videography magazine Vidy Award for RoscoView,

“We are extremely pleased that our innovative LitePadTM HO and Rosco VIEW products have been rewarded by the key industry media, demonstrating that our forward-looking approach continues to work seamlessly with this progressive industry”, says Product Manager Mike Wagner.

LItePad

A slim profile light source that generates a soft even light with virtually no heat - that’s LitePadTM. Its small size and light weight make it perfect for use wherever a larger lighting fixture cannot be accommodated, in a wide variety of situations throughout film, television, theatre, live entertainment, retail and event lighting. Powered by a 12v battery or an included mains adaptor, LitePadTM is available in six sizes, all of which are 7.6mm thick and its colour temperature is around 6000K.

From 1st June Rosco will be launching LitePadTM DL (Day Light) and LitePadTM HO. The LitePadTM HO will be 33% even brighter than the DL and will be available in 3 new standard sizes 76mm Circle, 305mm Circle and 610mm Square.

RoscoView

A unique two-part filter system, RoscoView is comprised of two separate components: RoscoView Film for the window and RoscoView Filter for the camera. The system allows users to instantly control 100% of exterior brightness as seen through windows without affecting the lighting and exposure within a studio or set.

By rotating the RoscoView camera filter, the user is able to change the degree of cross polarization occurring on the window where the RoscoView gel filter is applied, making it unnecessary to constantly change out various ND filters or keep many different types of hard gels on stand by.
