Stage Electrics Light Up the Stage for Roedean School’s Rendition of Oliver.

Roedean School, an independent girls school, delivered a production of Oliver, the Charles Dickens classic. Although the cast were full of energy and vigour this performance was enhanced with the recent investment of four new Chauvet Maverick fixtures. The mix of pure talent from the cast, a superb live band and professional lighting, made it easy to forget this was a school production.

In the weeks before the production, Roedean School got in touch with Stage Electrics looking to expand their theatre’s front of house lighting solution. Stage Electrics’ Regional Sales Manager Paul Roughton, liaised with the school to establish exactly what they wanted. “The school were clearly after a lighting solution that could deliver ultimate artistic precision whilst combining top quality colour mixing and exceptionally bright LED” explained Paul “After looking at several different possibilities they decided on Chauvet’s Maverick MK2 Profile and Spot fixtures” Paul added.

Chauvet’s Maverick MK2 Spot features precision engineered optics, a stunningly bright moving yoke spot with a 440 W LED engine with CMY + CTO colour mixing. Whereas the MK2 Profile delivers the same impressive colour mixing, along with an advanced 4-blade dual position rotating framing system. “The school specifically wanted framing shutters, and as the MK2 Profile offers this along with colour mixing and extremely bright LED output, we knew this fixture would be a front-runner” commented Paul.

After investing in two of both the Maverick MK2 Profile and Spot’s, Roedean School wasted no time in putting these fixtures to good use. “The MK2 Spots and Profile units have proved to be a fantastic addition to our lighting rig, their wide range of features proved extremely beneficial on our last production of Oliver with the ability to provide a narrow head and shoulder spot to a full stage wash and everything in between” explained Joe Wailes, Roedean’s theatre and events manager “The MK2 Units have also proved very popular with our dry hire customers with bookings well in to 2020”.
