Leigh Mulpeter
Biography
After starting as a YTS apprentice, Leigh worked his way up, leading to designing the lighting for shows such as Don’t Dress for Dinner and Check It Out at the Queens Theatre, Hornchurch. He went on to work for The Carl Rosa Opera Company, eventually designing the lighting for the UK and Italian tours of The Mikado.
Leigh has worked as a moving light technician and programmer for various television production companies and shows. It was during this time he met some of his corporate clients leading to designing product launches for companies such as Nintendo, Jim Beam, Aveda, The Bodyshop, Jaguar Land Rover, and Mark Ronsons ‘Uptown Funk’ album launch at BBC television centre London.
In 2013, Leigh designed the London premiere of new musical Streets Project at the Cockpit Theatre.
Other work includes Jesus Christ Superstar, Sister Act at the Curve Theatre in Leicester, Earthquakes In London, The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee, Dracula, The Little Shop of Horrors & Spring Awakening, at the Catford Broadway theatre.
His work with The TCB Group has been for West End show Rip it Up the 60s, then, Rip it Up the 50s, Rip it Up the 60s and Rip it Up the 70s tours, Aljaz & Janette's Remembering Fred 2018 UK tour, Remembering The movies 2019 UK tour, Remembering The Oscars 2021 Live Stream, Remebering Christmas. Followed by, Here Come The Boys 2019 UK tour, Here Come The boys London Palladium run and Natalie Lowe’s Dream Lover on board P&O ship Oceana.
His most recent design work has been stage and lighting for Beverley Knight's 50 UK Tour 2023 & 2024.
Leigh also runs a lighting hire company supplying various colleges and performing arts academies throughout the UK and Ireland.
