Hawthorn Get On Their Bikes

Hawthorn entered 3 teams into the “Dusk Till Dawn” 12 hour Mountain Bike race through Thetford Forest in Norfolk last weekend.Over 1000 riders including both professional and amateur cyclists took part in the 6th annual Mountain Bike challenge.

The race takes place through the night and consists of an 11 mile course through the forest. Riders complete the course on a relay basis, with each team member having to do at least 2 laps for the team to be placed.

Ultimate Sports Engineering supplied the Hawthorn team with Exposure light systems Enduro Maxx-2 and Joystick Maxx-2 high output Cycle and Helmet mounted lights. Not only were these a 'must have' for the race, but also they are currently being used by Hawthorn's riggers.

Hawthorn sponsored the outdoor lighting at 'base camp' and also at the start and finish lines at the same time, and even threw in a few fireworks to start the race !

The 3 Hawthorn teams raced in support of Leicestershire Air Ambulance and have raised an impressive £2,800.00 to date, and still counting!!!

Hawthorn's Mark Bailey commented " Tired, aching, dirty and cold!! But everyone wants to do it again next year, that says it all really! Plans are being made for next years event and Hawthorns will be there in strength again, in fact training starts next weekend."
