Fuerzabruta, this Argentine theatrical extravaganza was recently hosted at Camden’s legendary arts venue, The Roundhouse. Directed by Diqui James and technical director Alejandro Garcia Fuerzabruta, and meaning "brute force", it provided its visitors with an immersive theatrical carnival experience.This fast-paced and interactive production required its audience not only to be nimble but standing as they transitioned from being spectators to becoming part of the show. The production presented the audience with iconic images such as a man running the wrong way on a treadmill to a women swimming for survival in a water pool directly above the audiences heads.

For this one-month production, the Roundhouse Trust and the Fuerzabruta Company turned to technical events specialists Stage Electrics to supply and install a full event lighting and audio solution. Stage Electrics project manager Alex Keighley interpreted the complex lighting designs by working closely with The Roundhouse’s production managers Jamie Ogilvie and Gareth Green and the Argentinian lighting designer Diego Weins and programmer Maxi Marrone.

Working hand in hand with both the Roundhouse and Fuerzabruta Company ensured that we were able to meet all their technical needs to produce a first class flawless production. It was a privilege to have worked with such a mixture of creative minds," commented Keighley.

Lighting consisted of a comprehensive selection of Philips VL3500 Washes, Martin Atomic strobes, Clay Paky Alpha Spot1500’s and Clay Paky Sharpy’s, ETC Source Fours plus JEM ZR44 smoke machines and fans all controlled from three separate grandMA lighting consoles and networked via a grandMA NPU node running 11 universes of DMX. In addition Avolites Art 2000 T4 dimming racks and moving light distribution was supplied at stage and roof levels to provide power for automation and moving trusses.

For audio, Stage Electrics supplied a package capable of powerful sound reproduction and smooth coverage throughout the venue - taking into account the intricacies of an in-the-round system design. The team deployed an L-Acoustics KARA and KIVA system, supplemented by a large number of L-Acoustics XT series units in a 360 degree configuration. The system was driven by new Yamaha CL5 mixing consoles, encompassing the latest in Dante digital audio networking, system control and multi-track recording technology.

"The 360 degree loudspeaker system gave the audience a powerful experience, whilst providing the sound designer precise control of all elements of the system. Traditional system design techniques and new digital audio technology worked hand in hand in order to produce a spectacular and memorable show," concluded Alex.
