White Light Supports UNICEF Events Across London

White Light is delighted to have supplied the complete technical solutions on two of UNICEF’s flagship fundraiser events this year: the Halloween Ball at Banqueting House and the Christmas Concert at Central Hall Westminster. For over 70 years, UNICEF has worked to improve the lives of children and their families across the globe. Despite the remarkable challenges around the world, UNICEF fights for the rights of every child seeking safe shelter, nutrition and protection from disaster and conflicts. To raise much needed funds, the charity regularly hosts galas and fundraisers throughout the year.

The Halloween Ball took place at Banqueting House, where WL is an approved supplier. The evening had a Twisted Tales theme and the core objective of UNICEF was to elevate the importance of their work to the 300 guests in attendance. WL and UNICEF decided to make the stunning architecture play an integral part of the evening by project-mapping the windows with video footage of the incredible work UNICEF carries out. The result was a truly immersive atmosphere. The Halloween Ball also included live performances by Rita Ora and Neneh Cherry, for which WL supplied all of the audio support. WL also supplied atmospheric lighting and a bespoke soundscape for the Twisted Tales theme.

The Christmas Concert took place last Saturday at Central Hall Westminster, where WL is the Production Service Partner; following a three-year contract renewal earlier this year. Hosted by Lauren Laverne, 1,000 guests were in attendance to see performances by Jessie Ware, BalletBoyz along with two different choirs. The aim of the evening was to raise funds and awareness for Syrian children affected by war and WL was tasked with providing a sound system for the concert performances along with a lighting design that helped create a festive atmosphere.

Madolyn Grove, Head of Special Events at UNICEF, comments: “We were extremely impressed by WL’s professionalism, knowledge and how they were able fulfil our exact brief on both occasions. Following the Halloween Ball, it was an easy decision to then use their services once again on our Christmas Concert”.

WL’s Business Development Manager Alicia Earls comments: “We were delighted to work with UNICEF on two of their biggest events of the year and use our creative expertise, past experience and state-of-the-art technology to deliver something unforgettable. Ultimately, as an organisation, our primary focus is to create long-lasting relationships and deliver events that go beyond our clients’ expectations. We look forward to working with UNICEF on many more of their future fundraisers”.
