Jack Weir
Biography
Jack is an award-winning Lighting Designer with a passion for crafting immersive visual experiences across theatre, concerts, dance, exhibitions, and live entertainment.
With a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of light as a storytelling tool, he brings creative vision and technical expertise to every project.
A graduate of The Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Jack was awarded the ETC Francis Reid Award in 2014 and received a WhatsOnStage Award Nomination in 2016, marking early recognition for his emerging talent in lighting design. Since then, his work has been widely celebrated for a decade, earning 7 Off West End Award nominations, winning the Off West End Award in 2025.
His work has lit some of London’s most prestigious West End venues, including Theatre Royal Drury Lane, The London Palladium, The Savoy, The Garrick, The Vaudeville, and The Criterion.
Jack has also designed productions for leading UK regional producing houses, including Leicester Curve, Birmingham Rep, and has toured work across the UK and internationally.
In the concert world, Jack has designed for celebrated performers such as Ariana DeBose, Alan Cumming, Jeremy Jordan, and Audra McDonald—with McDonald’s performance at The London Palladium filmed for broadcast on PBS across the USA.
For Immersive & Exhibition projects, he has worked with major clients including Warner Brothers, designing 'Batman Unmasked' in London and Manchester, and also The Friends Experience in London and Madrid.
From large-scale productions to intimate performances, Jack works closely with directors, designers, and production teams to blend artistic expression with cutting-edge technology, creating dynamic and memorable stage environments. His adaptability and collaborative approach have made him a valuable creative partner in a wide range of theatrical settings.
