Indian Cinema Shines Bright with Claypaky Fixtures

Claypaky lighting is playing a major role in the entertainment industry in India with a host of music video and motion picture credits.  Lighting Designers Imran Shaikh and Naresh Bhutedia, with Light Craft & Sound Pvt. Ltd. in Mumbai, deployed a wide array of Claypaky fixtures on recent projects. Bhutedia served as the Lighting Designer for the Bollywood feature film "Bijuliya" and Shaikh was the Lighting Designer on the music video for the song "Deva" from the film.

For "Bijuliya," Bhutedia chose a versatile lighting rig including Claypaky Tambora Batten, Sharpy X-Frame, and Volero Wave fixtures. "The Tamboras provided the base lighting and the Sharpys were used for aerial effects and to light up the dance numbers," he explained. "The Volero Waves were ideal for creating the mesmerizing lighting looks we wanted for this big-budget Bollywood feature."

On the "Deva" music video, Shaikh deployed Claypaky Tambora Flash fixtures to produce vibrant, saturated colors and dynamic lighting throughout the performance. "The Tambora Flashes allowed us to create a variety of looks from bold colors to subtle pastel shades," he said. "Their flexibility enabled us to light the set and the talent to perfection."

Both Bhutedia and Shaikh praised the reliability, versatility, and performance of the Claypaky fixtures. "Claypaky is a name synonymous with cinema lighting in India," said Bhutedia. "The fixtures are incredibly bright, flexible, and easy to program. They enable us to achieve the creative looks we want for high-end Bollywood productions."
